Yay!! We made it to the basin!!

We made it in! The weather was much better this weekend, we only got snowed
on for a few minutes and had some rain showers on Friday night and Saturday morning, Friday and Sunday were sunny and warm!! The trip was stunning, the
trail wasn't in great shape, we had to cut trees out of the way and it all but
dissapeared in numerous places (it harly gets used anymore I guess) but the
country was beautiful and we just had a great trip!
Saddled and ready to go!!!
A little snow in the valley! We had to break through some areas up to thier bellies but not too much, most was only about a foot deep.

 Taking a break...

Girlie feeling lazy in the back!

Traveler is an old stallion that lives out in the basin, he was previously handled and Jarrett even used to ride him when gathering his owner's cattle, but he has been pretty much wild for the last 10 years. We are probably the first people he has seen all winter. He let me catch him though and we tied him for the night with the rest of the horses so he wouldn't try and breed the mares (Zeta was in heat).

Trail out of camp, it really isn't as bad as the pic makes it look!!
Overlooking the final drop to the river and our camp, we stayed on the riverbar hidden by that point to the right.
Traveler decides to cruise with us for awhile, I don't think he wants his new friends to leave... He was a really good boy though and didn't try any funny business!
Sitori showing off, aparently he had only been sat on and led around before this ride, so he had no steering, or anything... But learned a lot on this ride. This bank was under about 2 feet of snow and he took it like a champ, he will be a great mountain horse, he is mustang and not afraid to go anywhere (not nessecarily the best thing with no
steering, but at least they provided some amusement!)
